Street Style: Keisha Russell

web-4

This month, our 17th Ave. Street Style Huntress, Aldona B., is all about bold colours. Catch up with Aldona as she talks style & substance with Keisha Russell, who is doing colour the right way.

Aldona B.: “Keisha Russell stood out to me the instant I spotted her at this year’s Calgary Folk Music Festival, and again at the Afrikadey! 2014 World Music Festival some weeks later. When I bumped into her for a third time this month, I knew a full feature highlighting her personal style was certainly in order.

Russell style is all about colour, layers and an encouraging uniqueness that definitely stands out. On this particular day, I caught her with her signature cat eye glasses, a sexy, on-trend lipstick, and a bold colour combo that was more than welcoming on a cloudy day. Her ensemble spoke to me as the perfect look for summer, whether we get sunshine, or not.”

How would you describe your personal style?

“I love clean lines, elegance, but also casual pieces. I try to mix it up and only add things I love to my wardrobe.”

What stands out to you when you notice someone else’s style?

“Confidence; two people can wear the exact same outfit, but there’s always one who wears it better. You can tell when someone is wearing clothing versus when the clothing is wearing them.”
