YYC Burger Battle
From May 26th to June 4th, YYC’s Burger Battle is on & things are gonna heat up! With over 50 participating restaurants it’ll be an epic fight for burger supremacy, all while supporting great local causes Kids Up Front and Grow Calgary. In 17th Ave’s corner, we have 6 contestants ready to throw down, vying for the Burger Battle Champion title:
Blanco – Quesadilla Burger: Brant Lake beef patty, pickled red onion, sun dried tomato, balsamic glazed mushroom ragu & ancho chile aioli all between 2 five inch quesadillas. Served with matchstick fries.
Clive – New Clive Classic: a double burger done Clive style; lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and Clive sauce with swiss and cheddar cheese and a farm fresh fried egg.
Heaven Artisan Gluten Free Cuisine – Arepa Lamburger: traditional Venezuela bread, hand made with white corn flour and grilled until crunchy outside soft and steamy inside. Burger patty made in house with ground lamb, herbs and spices served with a side of yuca fries and a salad. Gluten free, nut free, dairy free.
Market – Duck Duck Goose Burger: house baked poppy seed brioche bun, pinot noir glazed sauteed wild mushrooms, rhubarb-spiked onions, thick melted swiss cheese, house ground duck patty, duck fat truffle aioli, preserved lemon relish, arugula served with fries & salad.
Ship & Anchor – The Banger Burger: 6oz top grass beef burger topped with a Sploumbos banger, S&A pulled pork, crispy double smoked bacon and aged cheddar on a homemade cheese bun with homemade BBQ sauce, garlic aioli, pickled red onion & arugula, served with fries or green salad.
Trolley 5 – Macky Mac & The Funky Bunch: two house made Alberta beef burger patties, topped with deep fried mac & cheese, smoked Alberta Beef brisket, shredded lettuce, tomato, aged cheddar cheese, crispy onions & chipotle aioli served with choice of side.
