Our four-week calendar of events, Business is Blooming, has officially begun, and we’re ringing in week one with all things ‘Eat’! From patio beers to brunch, there’s never a shortage of amazing restaurants, eateries and more to check out on 17th Ave. Below, we’ve rounded up some of the best breakfast and brunch spots on the ave you can check out this month!
Porch
What better spot for a weekend brunch than Porch, where the laid-back summer vibesare plenty and the menu is complete with delicious dishes like Eggs benedict, Shakshuka or Steak and Eggs. And of course, no visit to this 17th Ave hot spot is complete without one of their feature cocktails – go the mimosa flight or their kimchi Caesar to spice things up.

Maven
17th Ave is home to Calgary’s hottest new brunch joint, Maven – a homey spot featuring a globally-inspired menu and a plant and coffee shop in the back. Go for their signature item, the Kaya French toast, inspired by the head chef’s childhood in Singapore, or five varieties of eggs benedict. Comfort food items such as their spicy crab fried rice and Singapore-style pork Congee are also not to be missed.
