Get Quick and Healthy Eats on 17th Ave

If you’re trying to recover from all the holiday sweets that many of us indulged in over the last month, check out these “fast casual” dining spots along 17th Ave, where you can get quick and healthy eats to help you get back on track this New Year.

KB&CO

KB&CO opened their ‘casual but conscious’ dining spot on 17th Ave in 2020, and offer a variety of smoothies, breakfast items, wraps, sandwiches and more, all free of meat, dairy, egg and soy products. Their entirely plant-based menu features items like their popular Coconut BLT Sandwich made with their smoked coconut bacon, a Chipotle Taco Wrap, or their Cashew Cream Avocado toast. They also offer a plethora of different superfood lattes and smoothies, salads, grain bowls and soups – all available for takeout in their eco-friendly packaging.

Hankki

At the end of December, Hankki opened its second Calgary location on 17th Ave, where they will be serving up their popular Korean Street Food. Available for pickup and delivery, their menu features dishes such as Cupbop, which comes with rice, a fried egg and veggies, as well as a choice between different flavours like Korean BBQ and Bulgogi chicken. Try other Korean street food specialties like Dak-Gang-Jeong, which is Korean fried chicken or Mandu, which is veggie dumplings.

Fork and Salad

Fork and Salad was created on the belief that food should be fresh, simple and made with unprocessed and high quality ingredients. Their menu, which is filled with plenty of fast-casual dining options such as salads, grain bowls and soups, features ingredients that are locally sourced and organic whenever possible, as well as fresh, sustainable, and seasonal. Dive into dishes like their Mediterranean Escape, which is made with arugula, quinoa and veggies, paired with feta and a red wine vinaigrette, or their Farmers Yield, a grain bowl featuring quinoa and farro, along with ingredients like spicy broccoli, roasted chicken and a pesto vinaigrette. You can also choose the Build Your Own option if you want to get creative. Order online for pickup and delivery.

Raw by Robyn

With ingredients like collagen, turmeric, fruits, veggies and more, these Raw by Robyn superfood smoothies and juices – available for pick and delivery – are the perfect way to get back on track this January. Try ready-to-drink fresh pressed juices such at the Immunity Booster, which is a blend of carrot, ginger, apple and lemon made to give your immune system a boost, or Guayusa Lemonade, which is made with naturally caffeinated Guayusa tea from the Amazon. You can also go for the Raw by Robyn smoothies, which come in flavours like pineapple coconut and raspberry ginger, and are ready to take home in a frozen package. All you have to do is throw them in your blender and add your preferred liquid. Easy as that!
