How the 17th Ave Business Improvement Area Can Support Your Business

Welcome to the neighbourhood and the 17th Ave Business Improvement Area. We are thrilled that you have chosen our vibrant corridor in the heart of the Beltline to open your business. 

The 17th Ave Business Improvement Area is a not-for-profit that is regulated by the City of Calgary and established under the Municipal Government Act. BIAs are responsible for economic development initiatives that support businesses within an established boundary and are completely funded by a municipal levy remunerated by the commercial business tenants and property owners within the BIA’s boundaries. The 17th Avenue BIA is the oldest of the 15 BIAs in Calgary and we currently support more than 715 businesses.

17th Ave BIA New Business Registration

The 17th Ave Business Improvement Area is governed by the Municipal Government Act and is completely funded by a municipal levy remunerated by the commercial business tenants and property owners within the BIA’s boundaries. The BIA boundaries extend down 17th Avenue S.W. between 16th Street SW and 2nd Street S.W. and all businesses located within this corridor are automatically members of the 17th Ave BIA.
