There’s something about sunny days that make it hard to resist burgers, fries and milkshakes done just right. The seasoned 17th Ave crowd has long flocked to Clive Burger (736 17th Ave S.W.) since they opened in 2012 for their classic summer eats, and your first bite of their delicious burgers will make you a fan for life.
In the spirit of doing one thing and doing it well, Clive is dedicated to using wholesome ingredients, including 100% Alberta beef and fresh toppings to create their delicious burgers, leaving behind the fillers of fast food. They’re also committed to the environment, and use 100% compostable packaging.
Though they are serious about burgers, their space is all about fun: settle in and enjoy your custom burger surrounded by illustrations of reinvented drive-thru cartoon burgers, hot dogs and shakes – created by a member of their corporate office. If the sun is out, people watching with a side of fries on the patio is hard to beat.
We indulged in a few classic burgers (starting at $7) and added everything from fried mushrooms to hot sauce.
A small order of fries ($3) were just right for two, and we washed it all down with a delicious chocolate shake ($5) .
With new additions to the menu (hello poutine!) rumors of an expansion, Clive Burger will no doubt continue its reign as a favourite stop on 17th for a satisfying bite.
