Cue the latin-infused, 100% gluten-free menu at Heaven GF Artisan Cuisine (1013 17 Ave S.W.) where you can de-clutter your diet and indulge guilt-free.
Dynamic husband and wife duo Patricia Capuzzi and Marco Scagliati have been whipping up Venezuelan cuisine for over three years on the Ave, and lunch is the perfect time to stop in and sample the goods.
Their daytime specials include the Taco Express, where $9 gets you three tacos with fillings of your choice: chicken, steak, fish, pork or veggies – and a soda.
If you haven’t yet tried an Arepa, this South American staple can also be found on special around lunchtime for $9, heartier than a taco or two and overflowing with flavour.
Lovers of their community, Patricia and Marco recently started a Local Artists Program, displaying the works of YYC talent for two to three months at a time.
If you can’t make a midday meal at Calgary’s only 100% gluten-free restaurant, fear not. Heaven GF Artisan Cuisine is open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and you can dig into a delicioso brunch starting at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
