1410 World Bier Haus
Happy hour on a rooftop patio is the epitome of summer, and with its views overlooking the bustling street of 17th ave below, daily drink and food specials, and their haus bier on tap, World Bier Haus is the perfect place to post up on a hot day this summer.
Whether you consider yourself a beer drinker or not, if you’re going to a restaurant named for their beer, I would highly suggest trying it.
The Haus Bier, otherwise known as the Holy Grale, is an amber ale featuring subtle flavours of caramel and chocolate, which was made in collaboration with Village Brewery.
The beer was such a hit, they went on to create and name a burger after it.
Family Run
This family run business has been serving Calgarians for more than 15 years, and although their haus bier is always a cold, refreshing hit amongst beer drinkers and patio-goers alike, it is far from the only highlight on their menu.
More than 90 per cent of World Bier Haus’s menu is homemade by one of the owners, Ari Haralabakos.
Eats + Happy Hour
Once you’ve slugged back your fair share of refreshments, you have your pick of menu items ranging from bar snacks like chicken wings made in the haus hot sauce, perogies from Heritage bakery, or Greek ribs made from a family recipe.
For the main course, their handcrafted burgers are a great place to start. The Hot Chicken is brined in Village Blonde, and is served with haus hot sauce, coleslaw, pickles and haus ranch.
Or try the Holy Grale, named after their beer, and a more traditional handheld featuring a hand-pressed chuck patty, lettuce, caramelized onions, bacon, Holy Grale BBQ sauce, sautéed mushrooms, Applewood smoked cheddar, horseradish aioli, all served in a brioche bun.
World Bier House happy hour is every day from 3 to 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. to close from Sunday to Thursday, with draft starting at $3.75. They’re currently open Sunday through Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. with Brunch served on weekends until 3 p.m.!
