Open For Business
Purr Tea
16th Ave is the new home to Purr Tea, a local tea shop serving up their combination of Western fruit smoothies and Eastern bubble teas. Their menu consists of hot drinks, fruit teas, milk teas, fruit smoothies, flavoured smoothies and chocolate smoothies. This new drink spot serves up unique and delicious flavour pairings like their Wintermelon latte, Super Oreo smoothie, Ceylon black milk tea and many more.

Halal Guys
The Halal Guys was founded in 1990 by its three Egyptians creators who saw a need for authentic Halal food. Starting with no more than a hot dog cart they soon deviated to selling Halal foods in the five boroughs of New York where this option was missing.The Halal Guys began selling their chicken, gyro and falafel platters out of food carts across the city. Now, you can find them in the United States, Korea, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and soon 17th Ave! Although they are not open yet, we can’t wait to dig into their menu and indulge in their renowned chicken and gyro platters, as well as other items such as falafel, hummus and sandwiches.

Candy Shop Café
This is one restaurant we CANNOT wait to try! Founded by the team who brought you Chakalaka, 17th Ave’s hip, new tapas bar, Candy Shop is expected to open this summer on 17th Ave, bringing with it a combination of unique desserts and indulgent cocktails to the Red Mile. Saucy Burger Canada
With a name like Saucy Burger, you know this new burger joint will be delicious. Just take a scroll through some of their Instagram teasers and you’ll be wishing you were biting into one of their juicy burgers immediately. Brought to you by Chef Michael Dekker, SAIT culinary instructor and executive chef at Rouge Restaurant, this 17th Ave newcomer will be dishing up burgers and breakfast made from local and natural meats and ingredients. Higher Ground
This iconic Calgary coffee shop is coming to 17th Ave! Since 1982, Higher Ground has been a community haven for Calgarians, offering up their sustainable menu of food and coffee, and promoting local organizations and artists. We are so excited to welcome them to our 17th Ave community and to try out their in-house baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches and more alongside their extensive list of caffeinated beverages. Keep your eye out for this local fav, opening soon!

Porch YYC
Although they have yet to announce their open date, Porch YYC promises reimagined comfort foods, crushable cocktails and a fun and fresh wine list at their ensuing 17th Ave home. Located in the heart of the Red Mile, Porch YYC is sure to bring a fresh and lively energy to the Ave, and another great destination for tasty eats and cocktails on Calgary’s most famous street.
