From September 22 to October 1, get ready to drool as YYC Pizza Week takes over Calgary for 10 days of mouthwatering cheesy goodness! With nearly 50 restaurants participating and four categories (thin, thick, unique and gluten-free) loosen your belt a few notches and try as many pizza pie options as possible. For each feature pizza purchased, $3 will go to local charity Calgary Meals on Wheels. Pick up a passport at participating restaurants and get stamped at every visit for your chance to win great prizes.
Here’s a peek at the tasty slices you can find on 17th this week:
Trolley 5 – Great Plains Bison Pizza: smoked Springbank Farms bison (Fort Macleod), Hey Porter peppercorn demi-glaze, roasted mushrooms, caramelized shallots, fresh mozzarella, finished with rosemary garlic oil & crisp sage.
Browns Social House – Kendell’s All Day Breaky Pizza: creamy sun-dried tomato sauce, bacon, fennel sausage, spinach chiffonade, diced tomato, green onion, topped with a sunny side egg.
Cibo – Lughnasadh Pizza: corn, chanterelle mushrooms, roasted chicken and guanciale served on their crispy thin crust.
Cilantro – Pierogi Pizza: ground beef tenderloin, roasted onions, baby potatoes, scallions, provolone cheese, dill thin crust.
Jamesons Irish Pub – Ultimate Hamburger Pizza: It’s a burger and a pizza! Loaded with ketchup, mustard, ground beef, bacon, mixed cheese, tomatoes, and drizzled with fries and fried pickles.
1410 World Bier Haus – Mediterranean Chicken Pizza: cajun chicken, bacon, tomato, red onions, arugula, mozzarella cheese, feta cheese on a banan pepper feta puree.
Blanco Cantina – Pizzadilla: refritos (refried beans) and house-seasoned ground beef layered between two flour tortillas from the base of this Tex-Mex style pizza. Topped with red onions, tomatoes, black olives, green onions and shredded cheese. Baked to ooey-gooey perfection.
Roosevelt – Pepperoni Pizza Waffles: loads of mozzarella cheese, pepperoni & herbs, served with a marinara sauce for dipping.
Ollia Macarons & Tea – Red Velvet Oreo Macaron-izza: A soft and chewy macaron shell base, topped with vanilla bean cream cheese icing, delectable red velvet cake, a salted caramel center and Oreo cookie crumbles. This cake is entirely gluten-free perfect for sharing for two.
