Campfire in the City – Antarctic Adventures with Nat Gillis

September 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for an evening of Antarctic exploration, inspired poetry and photographs from the lens of Fjällräven Guide Nat Gillis.

About this event

Spend the evening around our campfire looking through the lens of Fjällräven Guide, Nat Gillis as she talks us through her adventures in Antarctica, sharing some of the most stunning photographs of the landscape and its inhabitants.

Nat Gillis will be launching her debut book ‘This is Where Atlantis Sank‘; poetry inspired by the bleak yet beautiful landscape that is our southern most continent.

We will also share snacks and drinks from our neighbours at Black Sheep Bakery and all guests will have an opportunity to shop for their next adventure at a special price.

As a professional wilderness guide, Nat has logged over 1000 days in the field since 2009; she has led hiking, sea kayaking, whitewater canoeing, floe edge and sailing expeditions and perpetually finds herself longing for the sense of freedom found in exploring new corners of the natural world. She is also a commercial pilot and enjoys reading and writing poetry.

Follow along with Nat’s adventures through her instagram @natgillisphotography and explore her website.

While our events are free to attend, if you’re able, we encourage our attendees to make a donation to Miskanawah. We will have a QR code available on the night to make a donation.
