Cherry blossom season has begun in Japan, and Lonely Mouth is celebrating with a special menu. The Japanese tradition of cherry blossom festival (hanami) is a celebration that is centuries old that consists of holding parties under the short-lived cherry blossoms as they bloom. Because cherry blossoms are beautiful and fleeting they have become symbolic of the impermanence of beauty. Cherry blossoms are often featured to depict the Japanese concept of mono no aware, the wistful realization that “nothing lasts forever.” Suma | Sakura Daiginjo | Matsui Sakura
