Blues and Jazz Music in the Park – Shari Chaskin and Jon Day

As a part of Summer on 17th, brought to you by the 17th Ave Retail & Entertainment District BIA, join us every Wednesday evening in Tomkins Park for live blues and jazz music. On Wednesday, August 24, stop in to see a performance from Shari Chaskin & Jon Day from 6-8 p.m.

Few singers can match Shari’s passion and combine those emotions with vocals second to none. She will take you on a powerful, emotional ride from intimate moments to soaring heights. This contemporary soulful singer began working with Top 40 bands, jazz bands and big bands at an early age and further honed her talents when she became an original cast member of both the Montreal Bilingual Company and the Canadian National Tour of the mega-hit musical “Les Miserables”.

She has shared stages with Al Jarreau, Chantal Kreviasuk, Colin James, PJ Perry, Tommy Banks, Guido Basso, Sass Jordan, Oliver Jones and many more. Shari collaborated with Elliot Willensky on many projects including Beautiful For You which appeared in a CBS made-for-TV movie. Shari was the singing voice for Farrah Fawcett.

Shari is that ultimate voice who pulls at your heart strings with her rich warm tones and her passion for power and honesty. Expect to be captivated by a voice with tremendous textures and nuances. A repertoire that touches all ages and a heartfelt honest relationship with her audiences.
