With the ridiculously delicious foods Gringo Street has to offer, one may be surprised to know that this Latin inspired restaurant all started on the back of a napkin in Dublin, Ireland. Chef Barbara Spain serves up delicious Latin street food on 17th ave using a “gringo” take on Latin dishes. Let’s say, you are planning a small little group hangout and you need a place to meet up for drinks and possibly a quick bite to eat. Gringo Street is going to be at the top of the list, and here is why.
Gringo Street has amazing cocktails such as the Mexicola which is just a fancier and very on-theme term for a rum and coke. They recently created 15 new margarita flavours not including their already loved 8 flavours from before. That is 23 new reasons as to why Gringo Street is the place to be.
Secondly, for those of you that like to be adventurous (or trying to be) with your food options, Gringo Street offers delicious items that will have your mouth watering. For example, the Queso Fundido which is a cheese fondue with all the melted cheesy goodness and hot cheetos to make it unique. Or their Tin Can Nachos, that may sound weird but it is a fun and delicious meal from a tin can. Creations like these have landed them on Open Tables Top 100 Restaurants in Canada.
Lastly, with all the goodness that comes with the food and cocktails, there is always a need for a sweet treat. With their in-house made marshmallows and tequila infused caramel dipping sauce, the churros are the perfect end to a delicious meal at Gringo Street.
Next time you’re in the neighborhood, stop in Gringo Street during their happy hour for their $5.00 beer, wine or taste their margarita rainbow with one of their 15 new flavours. Did we mention they also have $2.50 tacos ALL DAY on Tuesday? It’s no wonder that Gringo Street is the place to be. Book a table with them through Open Table here!
