Herc’s Nutrition was created nearly 25 years ago by founder and CEO, Dave Dekker. His desire for a community and destination with a focus on self-improvement, healthy eating and happiness drove his ambition to create Herc’s. At the time of Herc’s conception, there were only a handful of local sports equipment and gyms stores and Mr. Dekker still felt that people with his shared passion for health and fitness were missing out on a store that provided them with the essentials. So in 1996, he opened Herc’s Hideaway and Muscle Shop.

Since then, Herc’s has opened more than 25 stores across Canada, catering to those with a passion for health and fitness, and selling products like supplements, protein, gym accessories and more. In the early days, Herc’s clientele base was mostly “bulking” bodybuilders, but as the ideas around health and wellness changed, so have Herc’s customers. Today, Herc’s offers products for people simply looking to improve their health.
Herc’s Shakes
A stop at Herc’s is never complete without one of their famous Shakes. Herc’s offers both regular protein shakes made with low-fat milk and a natural 3:1 casein protein mix that aids in muscle recovery and energy, as well as a vegan protein shake option for those who don’t drink milk. Herc’s 16th Ave SW location is female-owned and operated, and is currently open 11 AM -6 PM every day.
