Quarantine 101 with 17th Ave!

The first few days of quarantine weren’t so bad. We got to binge watch all of our TV shows, sleep in, pants were optional and we even tackled some tasks that we’ve been procrastinating for a few weeks. But now we are starting to get a little stir crazy and even bored! Don’t worry we’ve created a list of the things you can do at home with some of your favourite spots on 17th Ave!

Quarantine Means New Home Decor

Spring is here! Give your home that little refresh you’ve been thinking about. Need ideas? Head over to Amanda Hamilton Design for modern interior design inspo! 4 Living, Robert Sweep and Structube are just some of the places where you can buy those chic pieces that will have your friends green with envy. Want that one of a kind piece that no one else will be able to find? Please meet our friends Son of Pharaoh and Rubaiyat

New Sound System Anyone?

Get the latest and greatest for all of your tech needs at Best Buy or London Drugs! You’ll need that new sound system to enjoy the Tiger King to the fullest. You bet it’ll be better than anything Carole Baskin has.

Macarons, Pastries and wait does that have a cream filling?

Staying in doesn’t mean you still can’t satisfy your sweet tooth. Get macarons By Ollia delivered to your house! Start your morning off with fresh croissants by Black Sheep or get right into one of D Spot Dessert Cafes signature cake slices. If you’re in the mood for a cold treat try Cookie Mama’s pints of soft serve ice cream! Want to take a stab at creating something sweet? Canadian Tire is your go-to for kitchen appliances!

Wardrobe Refresh? Yaaaas

Being stuck in quarantine doesn’t mean you can’t shop till you drop online. Some of your local 17th Avenue favourites have an online store or they just recently opened an online store! Go ahead and take a peek at Leo Boutique, Kit and Ace, Frank and Oak, Bamboo Ballroom, Blondie Boutique, Purr, Velour Clothing Exchange, Kate Hewko, Danielle’s Consignment, Lole and 27 Boutique

Mother’s Day Delivered to Her Front Door

Just because we’re stuck inside doesn’t mean that Mom shouldn’t get some Mother’s Day love this year. Order flowers for Mom from Purple Orchid! Is she a coffee fanatic? Order some coffee from Analog Coffee. Get her a one of a kind piece from Beyond Scarf , an adorable design from a local Canadian artist from The Ravens Room or order some fresh bread, pies or other tasty treats from Yum Bakery. Is she the queen of stationary? Head to Reid’s Stationers or if you’re looking for new home decor try West Elm!

Prep for the Great Outdoors

Your next outdoor adventure may be put on hold but that doesn’t mean that you can’t prepare for it with Fjallraven and Arc’teryx! Keep and eye out for deals and discounts on all of your favourite gear.

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes and More Shoes

You can never have too many pairs of shoes. Also we know your man probably needs to step up his shoe game too. Check out Less 17 and gravitypope for the latest and greatest in shoe ware!

Date Night

Your average date night might be a bit different right now but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some of our favourite eats and drinks. Order wine and beer for pick up at the Liquor Depot. Order in with some of your favorite 17th Ave restaurants such as Nando’s, Una Pizza, Cibo and more! Check out Skip the Dishes and DoorDash or call directly! Top the night off with a puzzle or a card game with Steeling Home.

Work on your Mind and Body

Your mental health should never take a back seat, which is why psychologists such as Shift Psychological are doing video sessions! Check out your local psychologist to see what they’re doing during this period. Move that body off of the couch with Rumble Boxing, CrushCamp, Studio Sat Nam and My Body Couture are offering live classes!

Get Creative

Time to pick up that hobby that you never had time for. Wanted to try knitting? Head to Pudding Yarn. If you’re wanting to dabble in painting and art, there is no better place than Mona Lisa Artists’ Materials Ltd. Step up your calligraphy and stationary game with Reid’s Stationers.

Friends Night In

Your next girls/boys night doesn’t need to be cancelled! There are great face to face social networking apps to keep us social while practicing social distancing. Make the night even better with Trolley5 and their Beer to go! Beer not your vibe? Check out Vine Arts and their Survival Wine Pack.

Face Masks Every Day

It’s the best time to step up your glow up routine! Shoppers Drug Mart and London Drugs have got you covered for face masks, skin care, bath essentials, nail polish for that manicure and pedicure and more!
