Kit and Ace has landed in their new location in Mount Royal Village (101, 800 16th Ave S.W.), and we couldn’t be more excited! Originally a pop-up shop just a few blocks away on the Ave, Kit and Ace was waiting for the perfect spot to open their permanent location. Their new space is big and bright with beautiful copper accents and pops of the iconic blue.
Originally hailing from Vancouver, the brand was started by Shannon and J.J. Wilson (of the same founding family as Lululemon) on the premise that we should be demanding the same technical aspects from our everyday wear that we do from technical athletic apparel. Thus the concept of washable cashmere was born – soft, luxurious and stylish without the fuss of dry cleaning. This breezy mentality embodies Kit and Ace’s motto “time is precious”, designing garments for the people that are as easy to care for as they are to wear. From outerwear, to swimwear, to everyday essentials, Kit and Ace offers clothing for both men and women in versatile fabrics designed to keep up with your on-the-go lifestyle.
Kit and Ace is not an average retail chain. They pride themselves on being uniquely involved in the communities that surround each location. The neighbourly vibe is evident in the store’s copy of “The List”: a thoughtfully curated itinerary of their favourite places to sip, eat, play, and shop in Calgary.
Stop in, even if it’s just to touch and admire their beautiful wares. The team is always eager to help and speak to their favourite pieces. Or perch a spot at the locally-made Supper Club table and engage in some Real Talk, while admiring the art on display by local artists.
Regardless of how or why, this is a stop along the Ave you shouldn’t miss. Thank us later for your budding cashmere addiction.
