Humainologie | Anti-Racism Film Discussion Series
Thursday, June 18th - Thursday, June 25th
Anti-racism education allows us to stand as effective allies. Pre-watch two films via Netflix and join our online Zoom discussion.
Join us for a moderated discussion to deepen our understanding of #BlackLivesMatter, racism and being effective allies. Participants will be required to watch the following two films (both available on Netflix) in advance of the discussions as follows:
June 18, 7:00PM – 8:00PM MDT | 13th
June 25, 7:00PM – 8:00PM MDT | American Son
During this 60-minute event, a small panel of racialized speakers will discuss and share views in relation to the film and the issues addressed within it, and participants will be invited to ask questions and contribute to the discussion. Intended as an opportunity for learning and deepening our understanding, we aim to create a respectful dialogue focused on helping participants become effective allies.
HOSTED BY community partners Yoga Shala, Humainologie, Wee Wild Ones, Blue Star Diner, Plant, Calgary Drop-In Centre, Metta Yoga Calgary, Lana Rogers PR, Ollia Macarons + Tea, Ashtanga Yoga Vancouver, Spectacle Bureau, and Dairy Lane Cafe.
Purchase a ticket for one event ($12) or both events ($20).
