Seven Easter Treats to Get This Week on 17th Ave

This April, some of your favourite 17th Ave businesses are dishing up decadent Easter-themed treats, traditional Paska loaves, delicious turkey dinners and more to help you celebrate this Spring holiday. We may not all celebrate Easter, but I think we can agree that it is always a good time for chocolate.

Ten Degrees Chocolate

Whether you’re looking for some Easter morning treats, or you just want to spoil your loved ones, this small-batch chocolate factory located in the heart of 17th Ave is always serving up delicious bon bons, pastries and desserts. This April, you can pick up house-made chocolate bars in flavours like white chocolate with lavender and raspberry dark chocolate; an Easter chocolate cake complete with raspberry filling and frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream and pre-made Easter baskets filled with Ten Degrees’ famous chocolate.

Urban Fare

If you’re craving the big turkey dinner this Easter weekend but don’t want to do any of the cooking or prep, head on over to Urban fare on 16th Ave, who is offering a chef-curated Easter meal that comes with roast turkey and all the essential trimmings. We’re talkin’ Caesar salad, freshly baked apple pie, roast veggies such as Brussel sprouts and curried cauliflower and gravy, of course! They also have a veggie option upon request.

European Bakery & Deli

Easter Bread, otherwise known as Paska, is a sweet egg bread and a longstanding Eastern European tradition. This week, European Bakery and Deli will be serving two variations of this delicious bread: a round Paska and a Paska loaf, both available in 800 grams or 1.2 kilograms. You can also add toppings such as raisins, almonds, chocolate, apricots and assorted dried fruits for just $5! They will also be open on Easter Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A daily dose of mini eggs is essential in April, and luckily, Butterblock is serving up all kinds of treats featuring this Springtime favourite. During their legendary ‘Tuesday test runs,’ they’ve created treats like Croissant craffles with peanut butter and smashed mini eggs and peanut butter hazelnut mini egg cookies. Skip the massive grocery shop and four-hour kitchen session and head to the Ship & Anchor on April 17, where they will be dishing up an Easter feast, available in house or for takeout.
